"ALABAT is foremost a tribute to my great-grandfather, Abel".
First a shepherd, then a farmer in Landes, he became the owner of a small Armagnac vineyard in the village of Saint-Gein in the early 1950s.
Shortly before his passing, a fire engulfed his wine storehouse. A few bottles were narrowly saved and have since rested in the family cellar, like relics of his beautiful dream.
The discovery of my great-grandfather's wine history and the tastings of his 1954 vintage, saved from the flames, gradually nourished my passion for Armagnac.
The inception of ALABAT stems from this family tale and the dream to carry its legacy forward. It's also driven by the desire to elevate Armagnac to a distinguished position amongst modern spirits. Through all my interactions with the industry's key players, I've become deeply convinced that, in reflection of their magnificent efforts to uplift Armagnac, we now need to present it in an innovative, bold, and radiant light.
ALABAT is the dream of penning a fresh chapter in Armagnac's story, while still cherishing the land, a family legacy, and the contributions of several estates.
